Forget invasive treatments and expensive supplements. Mobility and strength are the fountain of youth. They're the natural antidote to age-related aches and pains. Without them, there will be “challenges” ahead.
Our Osteopaths restore mobility and help people in their 40s, 50's, 60's and beyond in Kangaroo Point and the wider Brisbane area to stay active and get rid of all their aches and pains. We help you reverse the aging effects of stress and strain on your body to create a new normal without pain, stiffness, or discomfort.
Well, we know there isn’t one root cause for any pain, and every BODY reacts differently to treatment. The story (your medical history, spine, and posture) is different for everyone. At Osteoworks, we narrow down exactly what's going for you (not a textbook) and treat you as an individual. Then, we get you back to doing what you love: competitive sports, amateur acrobatics, hiking and sea turtle-spotting along the Point Lookout Trail—or just strolling along The Brisbane Riverwalk.
Feeling even better than you did before.
We consider all facets of health and wellbeing and view the body as one whole “unit”, not a collection of individual parts.
Over the years, we've helped over 15,000 people in Brisbane get their lives back. They range from athletes chasing peak performance. Hard-working Australians with sore backs, repetitive strain and other work-related injuries - desperate to get back to work. Through to grandparents who need help with post surgical hip pain. Instead of watching from the sidelines, we help them enjoy quality time with family and play an active role with the grandkids again.
Osteopaths are Government Registered Health Practitioners responsible to the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Board. We complete five years of university education and additional continuing professional development to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent painful musculoskeletal disorders. Using a range of manual techniques, including massage, stretching and joint manipulation. More specifically, we relieve pressure on postural areas by understanding and applying the mechanical principles of your posture. Those specific to you because no two people have the same spine or shape.
Our happy patients say that enjoying the things they love again without fear of injury and not having to endure daily pain is what they love most about Osteopathy.
Before treatment (like you), they tried the "wait and hope" approach to pain relief. They thought giving it time, resting, and hoping for the best would work. But days, weeks and sometimes even months passed by, and nothing changed. In some cases, it got worse.
But they finally bit the bullet and came to Osteoworks.
Now, they feel even better than they did before the pain started.
We know it’s tempting to pop pain pills or anti-inflammatory medication, so you can “carry on” when you have work responsibilities and children to look after. You don't have time for sickness – and the pills help you manage the pain and mask the symptoms. Perhaps you even (mistakenly) believe that nothing can be done. “It’s just old age”. We get it.
But pain meds, even when they're just over the counter, have negative health consequences if you take them for a long time. They don't solve your problem either. They only enable you to put off seeking treatment for a while.
Don’t do that.
Your health is far too important.
Let us help you the natural way.
Don't worry. We understand that if you've tried Osteopathy or other health practitioners before and it didn't help. On the contrary, it can make you hesitant about committing to further treatment. In addition, it's confusing to navigate through the conflicting and often contradictory information you get from (well-meaning) friends and relatives or that you find online. That's why we offer all new patients the opportunity to chat with us first – with zero financial investment.
To book your free call, click the link below, and we'll get back to you to arrange a date and time. The call is 100% complimentary, and there is no obligation to book treatment. We leave it up to you.

Owner and Osteopath
OSTEOWORKS was founded by DR JOHN WHITE - Osteopath, Sports Performance Expert, and educator.
John graduated from Victoria University in 2002 and has been helping people in Kangaroo Point and Brisbane who want to stay strong, active, and healthy for over two decades.
Before starting Osteoworks and training Osteopaths in-house at the clinic, John taught Clinical Anatomy to students at the Australian College of Natural Medicine.
He’s a hugely popular family Osteopath whose practice has grown through word of mouth and a never-ending stream of happy, pain-free customers. But John is also a peak performance expert helping athletes maintain optimal health, recover from injuries, and perform at their absolute best.
However, regardless of what type of patient is in front of him, John treats their aches and pains and simplifies the causes of their pain and educates patients on how to avoid pain and injury in the future.

What Does Osteopathic Injury Management Involve?
Osteopathic injury management supports recovery from injury through hands-on treatment, movement assessment, and rehabilitation planning tailored to your needs.
Knee Osteoarthritis: Causes, Treatment & Management
Knee osteoarthritis happens when the smooth cartilage in the knee gradually breaks down, leading to inflammation, stiffness and bony changes around the joint. Everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs or getting up from a chair can become uncomfortable. Osteopathy takes a whole-body view of knee OA, using gentle manual therapy, targeted exercise and lifestyle advice to reduce pain, improve movement and help you stay active.
Crooked Neck? WE can help that with ease
A crooked or tilted neck can cause discomfort, stiffness, headaches and restricted movement — but it doesn't have to stay that way. Our
osteopathic approach gently addresses the underlying muscular tension, joint restriction and postural imbalance contributing to your
condition. Through hands-on treatment tailored to your body, we aim to restore alignment, ease pain and improve mobility so you can move
freely and comfortably again.
Headaches? Migraines? osteopathy and acupuncture may be the answer
Headaches and migraines can be triggered by factors such as stress, poor posture, muscle tension, lack of sleep, or neck and jaw dysfunction. Osteopathic treatment aims to identify and address these contributing factors through hands-on techniques that improve joint mobility, reduce muscle tension, and support healthy movement patterns. Acupuncture may help by calming the nervous system, reducing pain sensitivity, improving circulation, and promoting relaxation. Many patients find it helpful for managing headache frequency, intensity, and recovery. At our osteopathic clinic, we take a personalised approach, combining osteopathic care, education, and lifestyle advice to help reduce headache triggers and support long-term prevention Continue reading…
Will an osteopath help with Tennis elbow?
Tennis elbow is a condition that causes pain on the outside of the elbow due to irritation and overuse of the forearm extensor tendons. Despite the name, it is not only caused by playing tennis and is commonly seen in people who perform repetitive gripping, lifting, typing, or manual work. Symptoms often include pain when gripping objects, lifting, twisting movements, or even simple tasks such as opening jars or shaking hands. The pain can gradually worsen over time if the tendon continues to be overloaded without adequate recovery. Osteopathy can assist in the management of tennis elbow by looking at both the site of pain and any contributing factors throughout the upper limb and neck. Treatment may involve soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, stretching, and exercise rehabilitation to improve strength and tendon capacity. Osteopaths can also provide advice around ergonomics and activity modification to help reduce strain on the elbow, support recovery, and lower the chance of symptoms returning in the future. Comprehensive, Hands-On Care for Lasting Results
Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal problems. Unlike treatments that simply address symptoms, osteopaths work to identify and treat the root cause of your pain, helping you achieve long-term relief and better overall health. Whether you're dealing with chronic discomfort or a recent injury, an experienced Brisbane osteopath can provide personalised care tailored to your specific needs.
Osteopaths use a variety of hands-on techniques to improve mobility, reduce tension, and restore balance to your body. These include gentle stretching, massage, joint mobilisation, and manipulation. Each treatment is carefully designed based on a thorough assessment of your posture, movement patterns, and medical history. This comprehensive approach means that osteopathy can effectively address a wide range of conditions, from acute injuries to ongoing pain management.
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek osteopathic care. Whether it's lower back pain from sitting at a desk all day, a sports-related injury, or chronic stiffness, osteopaths have the skills to help. By releasing tight muscles, improving joint mobility, and addressing postural imbalances, treatment can significantly reduce pain and help you return to your normal activities. Many patients find that regular osteopathic sessions prevent back problems from returning.
Neck pain is another frequent complaint, often caused by poor posture, stress, or prolonged computer use. Osteopaths gently work on the neck, shoulders, and upper back to relieve tension, improve range of motion, and reduce headaches that often accompany neck problems. Treatment may also include advice on ergonomics and exercises to strengthen supporting muscles.
Hip pain can be particularly debilitating, affecting your ability to walk, sleep, and enjoy daily activities. Osteopaths assess not just the hip joint itself, but also the lower back, pelvis, and legs, as hip problems often stem from or contribute to issues in surrounding areas. By addressing the whole kinetic chain, osteopathic treatment can provide lasting relief and improve your overall mobility.
One of the key benefits of osteopathy is its focus on prevention. Rather than waiting for pain to return, your osteopath will work with you to identify factors that may be contributing to your problems. This might include postural habits, workplace ergonomics, exercise techniques, or lifestyle factors. You'll receive practical advice and exercises to help you maintain improvements between sessions and reduce the risk of future injury.
If you're in the Brisbane area, seeing a local practitioner offers significant advantages. A Brisbane osteopath understands the lifestyle factors common to the area—from active outdoor pursuits to commuter stress—and can provide relevant, practical advice. For residents in and around Kangaroo Point, convenient access to quality osteopathic care means you can easily fit treatment into your schedule, whether you need a single session for an acute issue or ongoing care for chronic conditions.
Our clinic provides a welcoming, professional environment where your health is our priority. We take the time to listen to your concerns, explain our findings, and involve you in your treatment plan. Many patients are surprised by how quickly they notice improvements and how much better they feel with regular care.
Don't let pain limit your life. Whether you're experiencing back pain, neck pain, hip pain, or any other musculoskeletal issue, osteopathy offers a safe, effective, drug-free approach to relief. With the right treatment and guidance, you can move better, feel stronger, and enjoy life more fully.
