Foot and Heel Pain Treatment in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane
Foot and heel pain, including plantar fasciitis and Achilles problems, can make every step uncomfortable. We look at how your foot, ankle and the rest of your body move together and build a plan around what we find.
Common causes of foot pain
- Plantar fasciitis — sharp heel or arch pain, often worst with the first steps in the morning or after sitting.
- Achilles tendon pain — stiffness and pain at the back of the heel, common in runners and walkers who increase their load quickly.
- Foot and ankle stiffness — from old injuries, footwear changes or arthritis, changing how you walk and loading other areas.
- Referred pain — sometimes a nerve or hip problem higher up the leg shows up as foot or calf symptoms.
How we assess foot pain
We take a full history — your footwear, work demands, training load and what you've already tried — then assess how your foot, ankle, knee and hip move together when you stand, walk and load the foot. This whole-leg view matters because sore feet are often the end of the chain, not the start of the problem.
What treatment involves
Depending on the findings, treatment may include hands-on work to the foot, ankle and calf, gentle joint mobilisation where movement is restricted, and a progressive loading plan for tendons or the plantar fascia. We'll also discuss footwear and training modifications where they're relevant — practical changes that often make a real difference day to day.
When to see a doctor first
See your GP promptly for sudden severe pain, possible fracture after an injury, numbness, or if you have diabetes and develop foot pain or wounds. We can refer you for imaging if it's needed.
